So let's talk about something that I know all of you have ever wondered. What affects the cost of video? This is a topic that I can talk for forever because there's so many variables that can affect the cost of video, things that you might not even think of: casting, actors, location, location scouting, the scripts, and there's just so many things. So prop creation and not all videos require all of these things. So for the purposes of what we help clients and the systems that we've created, I'm going to share with you a little story that happened to us not so long ago. About a month ago we received a call and someone was looking to create consistent video or on a consistent basis to fill their social media. And I was like, oh my God, awesome. We have what you need. And the more I dig into my discovery call, I understood that what she was looking for was totally different than what I had in mind for her. We discovered that the most effective way for you to get the most out of your money invested in video is in creating simple, talking head videos just like this one, that you can create a bulk at a time and deliver them over time to your clients. What she was looking for was to create micro scenes of mini stories that could showcase the pain point of her clients. They were, in her eyes, extremely simple. You just go in, the actor goes in and they do their scene and then they walk out. And she though that the cost of that should be minimal and it's not her fault because she doesn't do video, that's not her business. So it is my job to educate my client and let her know all of the variables that she was not anticipating and that includes things like, again, casting, [inaudible 00:01:58] the good actors. If you're going to do a lot of scenes, you need different actors. Okay, perfect. We've got the actors. Now let's talk about location. There has to be a location scouting. Are you going to do everything in one house or you need different locations? Another thing, wardrobe, makeup, props, all of these things start adding up little by little. It's not a simple edit. Now you have to have a creative edit that has to have all this ping pong of different inserts and things like that. There's story boarding included or just at least someone to have a broad idea of what that takes. There's pre-production to each of those videos and the list can go on and on and on. So in conclusion, there's many different ways you can approach the creative process for your video, but you have to have clarity, is what kind of result do you want to have? And there's many different strategies that can take you to those results. My tip for you is have a ranged budget in mind and then allow the creative team to guide you through that process, considering your budget. And in some cases you might be surprised that it might not be that expensive because there's things that you can adjust to make the results exactly what you need them to be. Are you ready to do video? Are you ready to become visible to those that need you the most? If the answer is yes, I'm going to invite you to visit us at our website and subscribe. I will send you, from time to time, some video tips and offers and specific information on how you can use video to position your brand as a leader in your industry. Are you a speaker? Are you shopping for speaker reels? I got you covered. This video is about how you can save money when requesting a speaker reel. There's a few things that you can do to make it easier on your editor when requesting a speaker reel, and I'm going to share with you two things right here. Number one. When you have a speaker reel, most of the time what we get is that speakers have a lot of content that they need to include in their speaker reel and that means a lot of time for the editor who has never seen your content, has no idea about your talking points, going inside of that content and swimming in hours and hours of content. So one of the things you can do is actually do that heavy lifting for your editor, and it would actually help your editor go exactly to where you need them to go. If you have specific soundbites that you want them to highlight, select them for them. If you have specific things that you want to highlight, just inform your editor how to do that, and we have a tool to help you with that. Okay. Number two. The other thing that you want to do when creating a speaker reel is understanding who is your audience and how you want to show up. And because we know not every speaker is at the same level, not necessarily you have to be spending all the big bucks if you're not yet a big time speaker. So everything is at the level that you are. For the people that are just starting, we have a specific plan of speaker reel that is very template based, but is customized specifically for you. So it has the best of both worlds, but it's very simple and effective. And if you're looking for a more complex video because you're a big time speaker, as a rule of thumb, what you can expect is the cost is 10% off what you want to get paid for the speaking game. Yes. That's more or less what you can expect because of the kind of work and the kind of editing style that you're going to need for that video and the value return on investment. So if you're looking for a speaker reel, the best place to start is going to our website and subscribing so you can get more tips on how to position you as a leader in your industry with the use of video.
